::: Enable/Activate Indexing Options :::
The way to speed up the windows search is configure the indexing option properly. If you using the searches appear to be slow, it could be that windows is not indexing. You can see or manage this facility from Run menu (Ctrl + R) then type services.msc. Now at the open pop-up window, find the “Windows Search” and double click at this option. You’ll se the pop-up like picture below…
At the “Startup type” choosing the Enable option, then click OK. But the downside from this way, you’ll PC will work slower especially you have an 1 GB of RAM and much files are located on your hard drive, but if you has an 2 GB or more of RAM, there is no problems.
::: Using Portable TheSearchMan :::
The another way is using a 3rd-party freeware as called TheSearchMan (you can search alone from search engines with keyword “TheSearchMan”). The great little tool (only 35kb) that can enhance and speed up the windows 7 search feature. Probably one of the fastest ways to search your hard drive with simply steps, it supports real-time search and also indexing, so that will speed up your search even more.
You need to already installed a Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or higher to run safe this application. As you can see the picture above, it also includes an extensive search feature.
